The West Midlands Faiths Forum (WMFF) 4 key aims are to:
- Be a 'connecting hub' linking the faith sector with wider society and strategic bodies to inform and influence policy and decision making.
- Facilitate discussion between and research among faith communities on matters of social and religious concern.
- Help strengthen the capacity of faith communities to engage with policy-makers and service providers at local, regional and natioal levels and to act as their advocate.
- Encourage community engagement and cohesion both through inter faith dialogue and discussion with the wider public.
These aims are achieved through participation in regional and national policy structures (e.g. Regional Action West Midlands, Regional Development Agency; Government Office for the West Midlands, Equalities & Human Rights Commission and other regional partners); commissioning research; regional Faiths Conferences, seminars and consultations on policy and faith issues; facilitating inter-faith dialogue through regular faiths forum meetings (Executive and themed sub-groups); web site, email and newsletter information exchange.
